Microsoft has a history of collaborating with musicians, giving them access to some of their early release technologies to develop creative projects.
In this case, the partner was Martin Garrix, and the technology involved an AI interface where users had a selfie paired with images from a large Garrix image archive.  Based on these images, a set of abstract visuals were created in a projection room.
I designed the projection room, making use of the small footprint to cover the walls and floor with reflective acrylic, with projection surfaces cut out of the material.  This produced a kaleidoscoping effect, in turn enhanced by LED columns hidden behind two way mirror.

Freeka Tet implemented the generative visuals and audio.
